Grow a Better Planet
Improve the global food system from the soil up. PURIS seeds are designed to perform field to fork with offtake contracts that enable sustainable rotations.

What is the PURIS Grower's Progam?
If you're looking to diversify your crops, incorporate sustainable growing practices into your farming, or want the security that you have a buyer for what you producer, you'll benefit from the PURIS Grower's Program.
As the largest pea protein manufacturer in the U.S. and a trusted soybean supplier, we partner with farmers across North America to grow quality crops using our field-tested seeds, then buy the crops back directly in a closed-loop supply chain.
More about
the seeds

PURIS Pea Seeds
With a personalized total production contract, farmers can grow PURIS non-GMO yellow field peas to diversify rotations, build soil health, and reach plant-based food markets.

PURIS Soybean Seeds
Farmers can grow PURIS non-GMO soybeans on a personalized total production contract, take advantage of pre-pricing opportunities, lock into food-grade premiums, and reach plant-based food markets.

Grow Organic
For growers exploring organic, non-GMO production, PURIS has a proven model to help you make the leap. We even buy back your crops — which is probably why so many of our farmers who grow with PURIS stick with it. Southern Region Dryland
Texas, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois
- Yields can be more volatile depending on weather conditions and rainfall events, ranging from 15 to 50 bushel per acre. Average Yield would be around 25-32 bu. per acre.
Northern Region
South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana
- Arid Dryland regions average 22-25 bu. per acre with a range from 10 to 40 bu. per acre
- Dryland regions average 32 to 35 bu. per acre with a range of 15 to 50 bu. per acre
What is regenerative agriculture?
At PURIS, regenerative agriculture is more than a farming method — it’s a commitment to restoring the planet through every crop we grow. We partner directly with U.S. farmers to implement practices that rebuild soil health, protect water resources, and enhance biodiversity.
By growing crops like yellow field peas and non-GMO soybeans, which naturally fix nitrogen, we reduce the need for synthetic fertilizers and lower greenhouse gas emissions. This approach not only supports a healthier planet but also strengthens the long-term viability of our food system — because when soil thrives, so do we.
What is the delivery and payment period?
Standard contract is Buyer’s Call that will take delivery before the next year's crop harvest.
For example:
- Harvest July 2025
- Take delivery by June 30, 2026
- Payment is net 30 days from delivery per load
Do you offer crop insurance?
PURIS does not offer crop insurance. In some areas, crop insurance is available in the primary regions where field peas are grown through the local Farm Service office.
What are your weed prevention practices?
Organic weed prevention is through rotary hoe and tine weeder passes until the peas have closed the rows. Typically until 6 to 8 inches in height.
Conventional production does have herbicides that can be utilized, Glyphosate is restricted on peas during the growing cycle.
How does PURIS schedule planting and harvest time?
Planting schedule is working with producers on the most advantageous times that will allow for establishing a solid stand of peas from germination and plant vigor. This is to maximize plant health and maximizing yield potential. Depending on the climate and geography, this can range from January until late May.
Harvest timing is typically 95 to 110 calendar days from planting to harvest, depending on Heat unit accumulation through the growing season. Producers then supply a Harvest Sample that is tested by PURIS for sample approval of the peas for processing.
Will PURIS help me transition to organic farming?
PURIS has a strong network of growers throughout the U.S. This allows us to provide guidance and share solutions or approaches that other producers have successfully used during the transition period.
